ABOUT the author

K. W. Franklin, MD, a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Medical School, is a clinical professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. He lives in Florida and Manhattan, and in the summer, he can frequently be found sailing along the New England coast or fly-fishing in the streams of the Northeast.
